Community Commitment

A Continuing Legacy of Commitment

A commitment to the community has been an important tenant of the Deliso family going back to Jean Deliso’s grandfather, Joseph J. Deliso, Sr., and his support of the Springfield community. Jean and her team at Deliso Financial and Insurance Services have made it a part of their lives to also give back, volunteer, and support the economic development and welfare of the citizens of Springfield and the surrounding areas.

Baystate Health
Jean is a current board member and immediate past Board Chair of the Baystate Health Foundation, a nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to supporting all efforts at each of Baystate Health's hospitals and ancillary services, as well as a Member of the Baystate Health Finance Committee. Baystate Health's continued excellence in patient care, research and education depends on the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations.

Jean is a current board member of The Community Music School of Springfield (CMSS). CMSS is a place where people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can discover and develop their individual creativity. For thirty years, Community Music School has been committed to excellence, access, and diversity. The mission of The Community Music School of Springfield is to inspire people of all ages to begin or renew a lifelong journey into the joy of music and the arts.

 

County Estate Planning Council Logo

Jean is a current member of the Hampden County Estate Planning Council, a group that is organized in order to “provide a forum for current, accurate and authoritative information with regard to estate and financial planning.” They also work to increase public awareness of facilities and services available to community members for management, planning and settlement of their estates. The council started in early 1966, with an original 23 members.

 

NAIFA Logo

Jean is a current member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), formerly known as the National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU). NAIFA was formed to protect and help insurance and financial service agents and their businesses through knowledge and enforcement of ethical standards.

 

 YMCA Logo

Jean is a former Chairman of the Board for the YMCA of Greater Springfield. The YMCA promotes personal growth and development through programs and support for the community, and their focus lies in "Mind. Body. Spirit." and the balanced wellness of each area. The YMCA welcomes individuals from every walk of life, regardless of gender, faith, sexual orientation or cultural background. Established in 1844 in London, the YMCA is to-date the largest not-for-profit organization serving communities in the U.S. Nearly 42 million families are located within three miles of a YMCA facility.

 

Agents Advisory Council

Jean was on the board twice for the Agents Advisory Council (AAC), a organization that is part of New York Life Insurance Company. The AAC is a group of 24 New York Life agents that have a certain level of success called Council level. AAC members are elected by thousands of fellow New York Life Council-level agents. The AAC meets two times a year to discuss with the company’s management any issues that they are presented with.

Jean is a past board member of Pioneer Valley AAA Auto Club. The AAA, while mainly being an organization dedicated to emergency auto service, is also dedicated to serving the community. The AAA hosts community events often including sensitive document "shred-a-thons", VIN etching events, Mobile Catastrophe Command Centers, and others.

 

Women’s Golf Logo

Jean is a former President of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA). The EWGA brings women together who love the sport of golf through programs and events where they can meet and connect. They are considered one of the premier women's groups that allow professional women to network and enjoy the sport of golf through organized leagues, social activities, product discounts and business resources.

 

Community Foundation Logo

Jean is a former Trustee of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts. Their mission is to “make it possible for good people to accomplish good works in the Pioneer Valley”. The foundation plays an instrumental role in charitable distrubutions from large private foundations to the region.

 

Bay Path Advisory Logo

Jean is a former Trustee of the Bay Path Advisory Council at Bay Path University. Bay Path strives to be the “pioneer in innovative undergraduate programs for women,” encouraging their students to be leaders and societal contributors. Bay Path has a variety of innovative and flexible programs available for women in various stages of life and with varying schedules.
